Based on that mixed feeling of tranquil panic required to play certain video games.

Tears in the Rain
A loop referencing the Game Over screen from the Atari 2600 version of Space Invaders.
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I’ve watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to die.”
-Roy Batty, Blade Runner (1982)
Roy Batty was born into slavery The idea of a war slave being constantly reborn and refreshed, goes beyond conventional Post Modern ideas of simulation. These issues of identity and commercial slavery, have a greater vitality in modern, online and super realistic gaming; where avatars and attributes are commerce. Our time of simulation however, is self-fulfilling, self-perpetuated and user-created.
It is a creation of the self and not an entrapment of the self, where choice and preference are accentuated on a global basis.
Indeed, if Roy Batty was an avatar in a game, then he would have seen things that we would believe, have experienced ourselves and can constantly be refreshed and re-lived as a video game.
The Space Invaders screen is an attempt to create a simplistic narrative of these ideas.

The train Journey is intended to be an animation, it should hopefully be ready by Christmas.
